The pint-sized Gunners fan favourite is seen as a replacement for veteran Xavi, according to the Metro, though that doesn’t really add up as the two players occupy entirely different positions.
Long serving Spanish international star Xavi is set to leave the Nou Camp for Qatari side Al Sadd and the 35 year old is a player who will be hard to replace to say the least.
Former Malaga man Cazorla has bagged eight goals this season and is the north London side’s leading assist maker and a player who’s form has been crucial to Arsenal’s recent run of excellent displays.
Cazorla left his native Spain for Arsenal in August 2012 and has proven a real success at the Emirates Stadium but the allure of a move to join La Liga table toppers Barcelona could prove tempting.
Now into his third season at Arsenal the 30 year old has one FA Cup winners’ medal to his name and Arsene Wenger’s side are still a way off securing a genuine Premier League title challenge.
Cazorla is just one name on Barcelona’s extensive ‘wish-list’, which also includes Marco Verratti, Paul Pogba, Ilkay Gundogan, Koke and Paul Pogba.
