The Welsh international has reportedly told his international team-mates that he plans on staying at least one more season at the Bernabeu, though Chelsea are still interested in an attempt to lure the former Tottenham Hotspur man back to the Premier League.

Bale has not always impressed during his time at Real, despite scoring the winner in last season’s Copa Del Rey final and a crucial extra-time goal for the club against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final.

Manchester United are also mentioned as possible suitors for the 25-year-old, who has a £75m release clause in his contract with the Spanish giants, though the Mail claims their priorities lie elsewhere.

This could give Chelsea some edge in the race to sign Bale, though it still remains to be seen if the player himself will accept an exit from Madrid already.
