The game, which was played in Los Angeles, is widely viewed as Mexico’s first warm up game ahead of both the Copa America and CONCACAF Gold Cup this summer.

Chicharito’s goal came in the 14th minute and is sure to pique the interest of Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal, whose side are struggling to score goals this season as Falcao continues to flounder.

The 26-year-old striker has now scored 40 goals in 72 games for Mexico, and is third on their list of record scorers. He has struggled for minutes at Real Madrid, where he is on loan, but he is clearly still integral to Mexico boss Miguel Herrera’s plans.

What do you think? Was Van Gaal wrong to let him leave on loan? Is there still a place for him at Manchester United? Let us know your thoughts in the comments
