The Manchester City midfielder and his fiancee took advantage of the international break, and made a three-day trip to visit the city, and watch Lampard’s soon to be new club in action.

Bleakley posted this on Twitter to share the couple’s excitement over their first visit to the Yankee Stadium:

The Chelsea legend will officially join his new NYCFC team-mates in July, when his season-long loan spell with Man City is up, as the MLS looks forward to welcoming two Premier League legends in the summer – including Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard.

There had been speculation that the former England international could make an early move to the MLS, yet NYC coach Jason Kreis has quashed the rumours:

Kreis said: “It’s certainly not anything that’s being discussed,” as quoted by the Mirror.

“We are approaching this in the exact same way since, I think, January, when we found out for sure he was staying until the summer.

He added: “We need to prepare ourselves and be ready for him to join us in the summer. We’re still very excited about that prospect, but we’re not going to speculate on anything happening sooner than that.”
