Martin O’Neill’s side has been a goal behind after playing poorly in the first half. An error from Robbie Brady led to them going behind, but in the second half they piled the pressure on the Polish. Eventually this paid off with the Saints star netting off a corner late on.

The Irish are now in fourth place in their European Championship qualifying group with eight points. Germany and Scotland are two points ahead of them and Poland are top by another. Ireland need to finish in the top three if they want a chance of playing in France in 2016.
