The Liverpool transfer target has a decent record for the side, scoring four goals in just eight appearances. He has been recalled for the game, having missed the friendly win against the Czech Republic last time out.

He will have to be at his best in today’s game if he hopes to add to his goals tally, as Germany start with Barcelona keeper, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who has made a massive impression at the Nou Camp this season.

Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse takes the captain’s armband, and is one of only three players to keep their place from Friday, alongside Brighton’s Jake Forster-Caskey, and Norwich winger Nathan Redmond.

Meanwhile, central defender Ben Gibson will make his tenth appearance for the side, on his home ground.

The goalscorer from the win against the Czechs, Tom Carroll, drops to bench.
