Playing at centre-back, he was a typical tough tackling defender in the 1980s and 90s under Sir Alex Ferguson. However, since hanging up his boots the 54-year-old seems to have let himself go a bit.

Although he has still been involved in the game through various managerial jobs at teams such as Sunderland, Wigan, and Birmingham City, this doesn’t seem to have helped ‘Brucey’ stay in shape.

While on holiday in Barbados the Tigers boss showed how much his playing retirement has hurt his ever expanding waistline.
