According to France Football, Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has a £14.5m release clause written into his contract that could see him leave White Hart Lane for a very modest transfer fee.

The French publication report that the Spurs stopper could eye the exit this summer if the club fail to qualify for the Champions League next season – and, as they currently sit in seventh spot with just eight games left until the end of the 2014/15 campaign, they look destined to miss out, once more.

Nonetheless, the Express have eased fans of Mauricio Pochettino’s side by claiming that, as far as they understand, no such buy-out clause exists, and the club have no interest in selling the 28-year-old.

The France captain has been linked with Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid, the Express report.

Release-clause or not, Tottenham could struggle to fend off interest from the big-guns of football – particularly with the North London outfit struggling to make an impact in Europe.
