The former Arsenal man is currently at Barcelona but is enjoying a season long loan spell at Upton Park, impressing sufficiently to attract a great deal of attention.

The Metro also claim that Chelsea are keen on the battling Cameroon international but Brendan Rodgers will look to win the race.

Liverpool are more than able to meet Song’s £80k a week wage demands and the Metro believes that Steven Gerrard’s departure could well be a motivating factor for the Anfield side.

Song has started 20 Premier League fixtures this term and his good early season form helped Sam Allardyce’s side to a barnstorming start to the campaign, though results for the East London side have tapered off of late.

Should Liverpool secure a Champions League berth then one imagines their hopes of luring Song would increase significantly.
