The 27 year old has started less than half of Barcelona’s La Liga fixtures this term with boss Luis Enrique opting to use Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi in his three pronged attack, and this has heightened speculation that the long serving star could leave the Catalan giants.

On the subject of his role in Enrique’s first team set-up Pedro is quoted as stating;

‘When you do not have playing time, of course you do not feel one of the important players,’

‘Playing few games, not many minutes, it is normal that there can be talk of leaving, that is logical.

‘It is the same for all players, everyone wants to play. When you do not play in important games, then it is a difficult situation.’ Pedro added.

Pedro is into his eighth season in the Barcelona first team set-up and may feel that the time is right for a fresh challenge.

Arsenal brought in Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona last summer, a move that has already proven a big success, and this may act as further motivation for an official bid to sign Pedro though it’s not immediately obvious as to how Arsene Wenger would fit the player into his current Gunners attack.
