A year ago, it would have been hard to compare PSG stopper Salvatore Sirigu with OM Number One Steve Mandanda. The Italian keeper was almost peerless in the division, while Mandanda proved himself to be far too prone to momentary lapses of concentration and questionable judgement.

This season, however, the France international has demonstrated once again why he is among the most respected custodians in the division.

He made a string of important saves for Les Bleus last week as they were defeated by Brazil and has been influential in Marseille’s domestic resurgence.

However, Sirigu remains among the division’s three key stoppers, and regularly excels both with his decision-making, his assertiveness, and his organisation of those ahead of him.

Will the Italian be able to keep the likes of Andre Ayew, Andre-Pierre Gignac and the in-form Michy Batshuayi at bay at the Stade Velodrome?

Winner: Salvatore Sirigu
