Brendan Rodgers has been keeping a close eye on the 26 year old, who is part owned by Cagliari, and the Serie A midfielder has made comments that would suggest his future at the Stadio Olimpico is certainly unclear.

“Will I stay at Roma?”

“At the moment there’s a 50 per cent chance.”

The Daily Express claims that both sides, Cagliari and AS Roma, value their 50% stake in the player at £15m which of course has led to his combined £30m valuation.

The tough tackler has the power to make a strong challenge but is also an excellent reader of the game and could certainly help to boost Liverpool’s midfield contingent.

With Steven Gerrard leaving for LA Galaxy in the summer and Lucas Leiva’s injury issues restricting the Brazilian to just 13 Premier League starts, one can well see why Nainggolan would be of interest to the Merseyside outfit.
