Manchester United transfer blow as Real Madrid announce signing of major summer target

Manchester United suffered a knockout blow after Real Madrid announced the singing of Porto’s Brazilian right-back Danilo, who will join the Spanish giants in the summer ahead of the 2015/16 season, the club’s official website confirmed.

The Red Devils were linked with a hijack move for the high-flying full-back earlier this month (via Daily Mail), but it seems as though their efforts weren’t forceful enough with the news that deal has now been completed between Real Madrid and Porto.

According to the Dail Mail report, right-back is a position Louis van Gaal wants to strengthen this summer with Antonio Valencia not convincing in that role and Rafael continuously struggling with his fitness.

Given the number of players linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer, the world should be braced for another major spending spree from the Premier League giants in a bid to fight against the likes of Chelsea and Man United once again for the title.
