Liverpool have been linked with a move to sign out-of-favour Barcelona forward Gerard Deulofeu, formerly of Everton, as he looks likely to leave the club in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to the Daily Star.

The promising Spanish forward has not been able to make the desired impact in his time at the Nou Camp so far, despite previously being regarded as one of the most exciting prospects coming through their La Masia youth system.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan at La Liga side Sevilla, but has not managed to impress with just one goal in sixteen top flight appearances, though he did catch the eye in his sole season in the Premier League last term.

Deulofeu scored four goals in total for Everton and generally looked a dangerous attacking player for Roberto Martinez’s side, and it may now be that Liverpool will give him the chance to shine in England once again.
