The influential midfielder was left on the bench for the match against Ukraine, but did play the full 90 minutes against the Netherlands, a game the Spanish lost 2-0.

There has been intense media speculation into exactly why the Chelsea playmaker has had such a dramatic loss of form, putting pressure on him before even kicking a ball for his national side.

Following the disappointing defeat in the international friendly, Fabregas was called over to do a post match interview for Spanish television and was clearly in no mood to mess around.

The Spanish journalist asked him, “Are there any reasons to still believe in the Spanish national team after another poor performance against Holland?”

The former Arsenal and Barcelona player was clearly irked at his line of questioning, stumbling over a few words and then simply walking off.
