The 25-year-old has been in fine form in Ligue 1 this season, scoring ten goals from out wide after initially starting out as a full-back earlier in his career, but making the step up well to a more attacking role in the team.

Liverpool look in need of reinforcements in the attacking midfield department, with Raheem Sterling’s future uncertain at the moment as he continues to stall on signing a new deal at Anfield.

Wass may not be the big name required to replace the England international, but he could prove a smart buy if he is given the green light to move and becomes a useful member of the Reds squad, providing something in the way of backup to bigger names such as Philippe Coutinho and Lazar Markovic.
