Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata believes that England can win Euro 2016 and captain Wayne Rooney tells him so everyday, reports the Daily Mail.
The Spain international is hopeful with the array of talent that the Three Lions can currently call on for the national team squad. The 26-year-old himself has not played for his country since they were knocked out of the World Cup in the group stages in Brazil last summer.
The former Chelsea ace said: “I think England has that potential. You have a lot of good players, talented players already paying in the Premier League for a long time so maybe the next Euros – as Rooney is telling me every day – you will do a great job in France.
“He keeps telling me that, “We can win, we can win, we have a great team, we have a young team, quick team, I’m the captain and we can win!” He has that confidence.”
The Red Devil will also be hoping that his club can continue their impressive form in the coming weeks in order to consolidate their position in the Premier League top four. Champions League qualification must be seen as a minimum for the Mancunian side after spending over £150 million on new players before the season started according to the Daily Mail.
