The French international playmaker, formerly of Newcastle United, has been linked with the Gunners in the past and is now one of Arsene Wenger’s main targets to improve his options in midfield for next season.

Arsenal have been short of quality in that position for much of this season, having to field unproven youngster Francis Coquelin as the likes of Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere have spent much time out injured.

Although Coquelin has performed well in their absence, it seems likely that Wenger will look to add more experience to that position, with Cabaye the latest of several big names to be linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

£10m may be enough to land the 29-year-old as he struggles to establish himself at PSG, despite previously looking top class in his time in England.
