The Red Devils have first option to sign Falcao on a permanent deal, but, according to talkSPORT, van Gaal has made up his mind on a move with a defining ‘no’. The forward’s four Premier League goals have all but failed to convince the Dutchman he is worthy of a place at Old Trafford.

There has been little speculation over Falcao making a move to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the summer, yet these latest rumours suggest that there could be more that meets the eye with his latest following of Real on Twitter.

The Spanish giants have long been admirers of the 29-year-old, but the Express report that he has simply been too expensive for a genuine offer to be tabled.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez revealed why they did not sign the forward last summer, claiming that he would have gone against their business model, saying, “in this club we follow a sporting-economic equation which (former club president Santiago) Bernabeu taught us, and we decided not to [sign Falcao] do so,” as quoted by the Express.

However, if latest reports are anything to go by, Perez’s mind may have been changed – and, considering Falcao’s poor form this season, this would be a stunning deal for the former Atletico Madrid hit-man.
