Here’s how Tottenham’s players rated:

Michel Vorm – 7

Easily Tottenham’s best player of the day, making a few decent saves after most of the attacking play came from Burnley. Did well to tip over from Ings on the stroke of half-time.

Kyle Walker – 4 (Davies 47′)

Suffered an injury early in the first half which was probably for the best as he had a torrid day. Tried to support attacking moves at the expense of his defensive duties, despite not having any impact in the final third.

Eric Dier – 5

Looked worried when he was put under pressure against Burnley’s attackers. Improved from the last away game against Manchester United, but was lacking in physicality.

Vlad Chiriches – 6

Moved to right-back when Walker went off and struggled, though he did well at centre half. As a full-back he didn’t get forward enough along with not giving Dier enough cover to deal with Vokes and Barnes.

Danny Rose – 4

Absolutely no impact going forward, but in doing so he allowed Trippier to pick passes through the Spurs back line. The pressure put on him by the Burnley side looked to get to him.
