Saints face losing star player as Liverpool & Chelsea join the running

Southampton will reportedly make one final attempt to keep key player Nathaniel Clyne at the club despite growing interest from Liverpool and Chelsea as well as long-time admirers Manchester United.

The Saints lost a whole host of their star names last summer as the likes of Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw and Dejan Lovren left the club, with Clyne now looking increasingly likely to follow them out of the club.

Southampton have performed well in the Premier League this season despite losing so many of their best players, but Ronald Koeman’s side look to have fallen short of a European place after a poor run of form towards the end of the season.

This will come as some disappointment for a side that spent so long in the top four this term, and Clyne will now surely fancy his chances of a big move elsewhere as the offers come in, according to the Daily Mirror.
