But one player he won’t be able to tempt to the Etihad and the obvious riches that entails will be Stoke City striker Peter Crouch.

In what will clearly be a hammer blow to Pellegrini, the 34-year-old former England international ruled out a move in the summer to Manchester with a hilarious Twitter post.

The 6ft 7in striker has been around the block in the Premier League and Championship, rocking up with ten clubs in an impressive career.

But unfortunately for Manchester City fans you’d have to say, they won’t be seeing ‘the Robot’ celebration anytime soon.

Whether Pellegrini is even there to sign this ‘big player’ in the summer is surely going to be the question on everyone’s lips until the end of the season after a terrible slump in form for City that has seen then drop to fourth place following the defeat at Palace.
