England midfielders Jack Wilshere and Jordan Henderson are both names on the summer shopping list of Manchester City, as they look to fill their quota of homegrown players, according to The Daily Mail.

The current Premier League champions who look almost certain to surrender their title to Chelsea come the end of the season have often fielded just one English player in goalkeeper Joe Hart this term, and are looking to grow that number.

Out-of-contract James Milner and veteran midfielder Frank Lampard will both leave the club at the end of the current campaign, leaving the Citizens with two gaps to fill for English players, as they are also touted with contract rebel Raheem Sterling.

Jordan Henderson has just one year left on his contract, and following an impressive spell at Liverpool, Manchester City could possibly force the Reds hands after he turned down a contract extension at Anfield.

Should Wilshere make the move to the Etihad Stadium, he will be following former Gunners Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy, Bacary Sagna, Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure. That said, the Citizens are concerned about his injury history and may think twice before spending big on him.
