According to Sky Sports, the veteran playmaker has held talks with the club and taken a tour of their stadium, with a move looking likely as his contract at the Nou Camp is set to expire this summer.

However, ESPN also reports that Xavi has denied that this was his reason behind a trip to Qatar, and it may now be that the 35-year-old will end up staying at Barca for one more season as the Catalan giants hope to tie him down to a new deal.

Spanish source Marca claims Barcelona still hope to keep Xavi, even if the long-serving star has featured less often in the starting lineup this season after looking past his very best form.
