Corriere dello Sport claims Inter head coach Roberto Mancini has identified the Spain international as a key target for the next transfer window and has urged the hierarchy to rival the English duo when the bidding begins.

The Serie A club could even use hitman Mauro Icardi as a bargaining tool to force the deal over the finishing line.

Mancini is said to have met with Barcelona representatives in March, when the Catalan giants took on his former club Manchester City in the Champions League. Pedro was a topic of conversation and a strong interest has been retained in the subsequent weeks.

With Inter languishing in ninth place in the Serie A table, Mancini is anxious to oversee a significant improvement of the squad during the summer, and believes Pedro’s flair would offer the side a new dimension.

The 27-year-old’s contract is due to expire in the summer of 2016.
