Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland and West Ham United are also interested in the 25-year-old, who has spent this season on loan at Aston Villa, making 27 appearances in all competitions without scoring a goal.

Cleverley has featured 79 times for United under Sir Alex Ferguson and David Moyes, while he’s also played 13 times for his country. However, he’s struggled with his form over the last 18 months and will now be looking to kick-start his career with a permanent move.

According to the Daily Mirror, Everton are confident of getting a deal done. Manager Roberto Martinez believes his team’s more attractive style of play will convince Cleverley to make the switch, despite several clubs potentially being prepare to offer more money.

Spurs will likely be able to offer European football, providing they can consolidate a top six finish, but Cleverley’s desire for first-team football is another boost for Everton’s hopes.
