The talented teenage attacker is regarded as one of the best young talents coming through at the club at the moment, and has attracted plenty of interest in the transfer market this season.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is known for his fondness in bringing through young talent, but a £40m move for Guedes would certainly go against the north London club’s spending policy, coming close to matching the club-record fee paid for Mesut Ozil in 2013.

Despite Guedes’ immense potential, that would certainly look like risky business for Arsenal, who are not exactly short of quality upfront anyway at the moment after some fine recent form from Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez and others.

Still, the Metro claims Arsenal are interested in the Portuguese starlet and keeping an eye on his progress.
