The youngster was recalled by Rodgers in January after being on loan at Championship side Derby for the early part of the season.

He was handed a start in the Merseyside derby against Everton at Goodison Park, where he was so impressive that he became a regular in the team until picking up a knee injury in the Europa League tie against Besiktas over a month ago.

It was reported by Mail Online last month that he was expected to miss at least four weeks of action and the 19-year-old revealed on Instagram last week that he was ready to return to training.

And upon his return he is said to have impressed his manager so much that he is set for an immediate recall to the squad for the game at Anfield.

“Young Jordon will come back in and I’ve got to say he’s looked absolutely sensational in training.” Rodgers told reporters (via Mail Online)

“He’s been out for a while but he’s been a couple of weeks now out on the field doing his preparation work and he’s joined in the training.”

“He’s got real natural fitness and he’ll come into the squad for Monday night.” he added.

Liverpool will look to get back to winning ways in league against a out-of-form Magpies side after suffering back-to-back defeats which has dented their hopes of Champions League qualification.
