Swansea were unlucky to be behind heading into the second half, with Aaron Lennon opening the scoring for the visitors. The home side got right back in it after a moment of madness from Seamus Coleman however, with Jonjo Shelvey converting from the spot after a crazy handball.

The Everton right-back clearly felt he was fouled in the build up, going down under the challenge of Marvin Emnes. But he panicked when the whistle didn’t come, and blatantly scooped the ball out of Emnes’ path with his hand.

Referee Michael Olivier was just a few feet away, and was perfectly positioned to witness the incident. He hesitated momentarily, before blowing his whistle and pointing straight to the spot.

Shelvey stepped up, but was delayed by Tim Howard. The USA international was booked for his actions, and it didn’t seem to put the former Liverpool man off at all.

He placed his shot well, sending Howard the wrong way. The ball nestled firmly in the bottom corner, and we were back to honours even at the Liberty Stadium.
