Chelsea have sent scouts to watch Manchester United target and Benfica winger Nicolas Gaitan, reports the Daily Express.
With Mohamed Salah set to remain on loan at Fiorentina for another season and Andre Schurrle having left the club in January, the Blues need more competition on the wings. The inability of recent arrival Juan Cuadrado to adapt to English football as of yet will also have Jose Mourinho thinking about signing another player.
Gaitan could be the man that the Portuguese boss goes for, with the 27-year-old having scored five times in 25 appearances this season. He has also played nine times for Argentina in his career, grabbing two goals in the process. The Express claim that it could take £30 million to sign the midfielder.
However, he may have to fight off interest from the Red Devils. With Juan Mata and Ashley Young both playing well and record signing Angel Di Maria in reserve, it is debatable whether United need the Argentina international as badly as their Premier League rivals.
