Jack Wilshere, Serge Gnabry and Abou Diaby are set to feature for the Arsenal under 21’s on Monday night as they bid to step up their fitness and provide manager Arsene Wenger with a selection headache, the club’s official website reports.

The trio were left out of the first team squad for the match against Burnley at the weekend after starring for the second string side against their Stoke City counterparts last week.

Should they come through the game on Monday night unscathed then they all could be in contention for the Gunners’ FA Cup semi-final clash against Reading on Saturday, although it be a tough battle to force their way into the side at the moment.

Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla have forged a successful partnership in recent months that has been so strong it has forced Aaron Ramsey into a wide role, so Wilshere and Diaby may have to bide their time.

While Gnabry is behind Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck in the pecking order so it would appear unlikely that he will feature at Wembley.
