Manchester United ace Juan Mata thinking ahead to his first Stamford Bridge return

Manchester United playmaker took to his blog ‘One Hour Behind‘ on Monday morning to write an adrenaline-fuelled post on his side’s excellent 4-2 drubbing over rivals Manchester City.

But while spirits are high in the Old Trafford camp, Mata admits that the Red Devils are already thinking about their next ‘final’ against title leaders Chelsea – in what would be the midfielder’s first return to Stamford Bridge since leaving in January 2014.

‘The atmosphere was crazy!’ Manchester United star Juan Mata praises fans following derby win

The Spaniard has been in fine form in the second-half of the season, scoring against rivals Liverpool and Manchester City, as the club close in on second-place Arsenal – and will no doubt be out to upset his former team next Saturday.

Mata wrote on his blog, ‘we are already thinking about our next ‘final’, a visit to the leader of the Premiership.

‘Needless to say that it’s going to be a very special game for me,’ he continued.

‘I already played against Chelsea in the first half of the championship, but going back to Stamford Bridge for the first time will bring me plenty of good memories, for sure.’

But the 26-year-old admits he won’t be showing his former club any respect on the pitch, as they set out to win three points.

‘Obviously, our intention is to get the three points again and we will try from the kick-off until the final whistle.

‘The best thing is that we get to this game in a very good moment, with confidence, but we are aware that we must perform at our best level if we want to beat Chelsea.’

While the Blues seem to have already wrapped up the Premier League title – there are certainly no guarantees just yet, with Mourinho’s men to face Arsenal and Manchester United in their next two fixtures.

Defeat in both clashes could be an incredible blow to Chelsea, and would make for a nervy ending to the season for the Stamford Bridge faithful.
