The World Cup winner could be available for £15 million according to the article, which is likely to be cheaper than fellow Bundesliga star Mats Hummels. The Daily Mail thinks that the centre-back could go for £36 million to the Red Devils in the summer, but Howedes could be a cheaper option who still has the ability to improve their defence.

The 27-year-old has made 23 appearances in the German top flight this season, scoring twice in a team that has also got the joint fourth best defensive record in the division. He has claimed in the past that he would like to move to England, and with the new TV rights deal clubs could now have the money to bring him in.
