This is despite the winger turning 30-years-old in the summer, and the contract potentially taking him through until he is 33-years-old. He has emerged as a key player under Louis van Gaal this season, even keeping out club record signing Angel Di Maria in recent weeks. This has been particularly surprising as Young was struggling to get in to the starting eleven under David Moyes in the last campaign.

The England international starred as the Red Devils beat fierce rivals Manchester City 4-2 on Sunday. Not only did he score their first goal in the derby encounter, but he also assisted Marouane Fellaini for the second and impressed through the full 90 minutes. This helped United to a win that gives them a four point lead over their neighbours with just six games to go.
