It has been a spectacular first nine months in English football for the former Barcelona man after completing his move to the Premier League following an impressive showing at last summer’s World Cup finals.
He scored the crucial goal in the Champions League qualifier against Besiktas back in August to seal Arsenal’s passage into the group stages of the competition and has gone on to find the back of the net 19 more times this season, with 14 of those coming in the league.
Despite only finding the back of the net twice in his last six appearances for the Gunners, his work-rate and performances at various stages of the campaign has already endeared him to the club’s supporters.
They will be hoping that he can help to fire the team into a second successive FA Cup final when Arsenal entertain Championship side Reading at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.
