The Red Devils have been strongly linked to the centre-back reports the Express, and these most recent comments would seem to have added credence to this assertion. With the summer transfer window coming up, a move could happen sooner rather than later.

Chelsea are apparently also interested in the 26-year-old, but the defender is currently leaning towards Old Trafford according to the report. A transfer has become may have become more likely this season due to the terrible campaign that BVB have been enduring.

The German side is currently 10th in the Bundesliga, and look likely to be without any European football next time round. Hummels has played 30 times in all competitions this campaign, and Dortmund’s defensive record hasn’t really been their problem, letting in only 37 goals in the 28 league matches.
