The player is likely to depart the French giants at the end of the season according to the paper and told of his love for Liverpool…

“All my life I have been a Liverpool fan. When I was young I was watching the Liverpool games,” he began.

“Steven Gerrard is my favourite player. It will not be easy to see him leave in the summer, but we all need a new challenge.”

The Ghanian international has performed well, scoring 11 goals from midfield this season in 28 games for the side who are currently fourth in Ligue 1, five points shy of leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool may face a fight for his signature, with plenty of other Premier League clubs, such as Arsenal, Swansea and Newcastle waiting to pounce on his availability.
