The 24-year-old has been having a great season between the sticks for the Red Devils, helping them to concede the third least goals in the Premier League this season. The Spain international is also one of the main contenders for the PFA player of the season award.

It seems that he is also a good influence off the pitch with Shaw saying: “David De Gea is funny, he’s kind, if you want to talk to him you can talk to him – he’s the nicest guy in football! He’s been unbelievable for us this season and kept us in so many games, he’s starting to become the best goalkeeper in the world.

The youngster joined the Old Trafford outfit from Southampton in the summer, but has struggled to make an impact in his first season. He has not been helped by injuries, making only 17 appearances for United so far.

The 19-year-old may be back in contention for a place when they play Chelsea on Saturday, with a hamstring injury currently keeping him out. However, the left-back may find it difficult to get in to the team, with Daley Blind playing well in his position in recent weeks.
