Manchester City still keen on Pep Guardiola despite Jurgen Klopp becoming available

The Chilean has come under pressure in recent weeks as the Citizens have lost a number of games, including the Manchester derby. This has seen them slip to fourth in the table, and they are in genuine danger of slipping out of the Champions League qualification places. Liverpool are four points behind them in fifth position.

Vieira is currently the Under 21’s manager at the Sky Blues, and would seem to have been impressive enough in the role to put him line for the main job. The 38-year-old will only complete his coaching badges in the summer, and has no prior experience as a manager.

This is despite highly rated Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp announcing he will leave the Bundesliga side at the end of the current campaign, and making it clear that he wants to go straight back in to management as soon as possible.
