Chelsea are targeting Olympique de Marseille’s Giannelli Imbula and are keen to sign the Ligue 1 midfielder this summer.
The Blues wanted to recruit the dynamic Franco-Congolese star two years ago, but the then-En Avant de Guingamp man opted to move to OM and the Stade Velodrome.
Imbula has emerged as one of Ligue 1’s most dynamic midfielders over the last two campaigns, and his form has apparently piqued the interest of the Pensioners once again.
According to Sport Witness, Chelsea are one of several European clubs who have been eyeing the France U21 midfielder ahead of a potential move this summer.
Jose Mourinho’s side previously sent scouts to watch a Ligue 1 match between Imbula’s Marseille and Toulouse, and possess the financial muscle to conclude a deal with Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
The 22-year-old has made 31 appearances in Ligue 1 so far this season, scoring twice and contributing one assist.
