Diego Maradona is once again at the centre of a PR storm after he assaulted a journalist during a friendly game that was meant to be promoting peace in Colombia.

After last Friday’s match in Bogota, Colombia, the Argentinian star had multiple altercations with fans, journalists and security guards.
First, he assaulted a journalist who tried to take a picture with a phone and then was caught kicking a security member.
Accoridng to Clarin, before the start of the game Maradona said that Colombia deserves reconciliation and violence should stop. “I ask Colombians to cry-out for peace and ask for justice and God for peace to come soon” he stated.
During the incident, he accidentally assaulted a kid. He apologised and said he doesn’t want to be remember by the kid for the incident. After his apology he gave a present to the kid, a football with his autograph.
