Manchester City will look to bounce back from last weekend’s derby defeat when they welcome an out-of-form West Ham United side to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The defending champions have struggled in recent weeks, losing four of the last five in all competitions, but have won the last three in a row at home in the league, scoring 10 and conceding zero in the process.
Their horror show against Manchester United last week leaves them 12 points behind league leaders Chelsea and just four clear of fifth placed Liverpool at the start of play and they face the possibility of being dragged into a fight for Champions League qualification.
Sam Allardyce’s side have only won once in their last 11 games but should they complete the double over City then not only will the race for fourth become interesting, but speculation over Manuel Pellegrini’s job is sure to increase, too.
