The 21-year-old is on the Player of the Year shortlist alongside Eden Hazard, Phillipe Coutinho, David De Gea, Diego Costa, and Alexis Sanchez, while he is joined by the first three for the Young Player of the Year award in addition to Raheem Sterling and Thibaut Courtois.

Should Kane – who has scored 19 league goals this season – pick up both awards, then he will be repeating the 2012-2013 season feat of former Spurs winger Gareth Bale.

And the England forward admits he his proud to be in the running:

“I’m delighted to be nominated for both awards, to have that appreciation from fellow players is a huge honour and it shows you are doing the right things,” he told the club’s official website.

“It’s been a hectic, crazy season with a lot of highs and this is another special moment.” he added.

To receive acclaim from those in the media and teammates is one thing but to be acknowledged by those from rival clubs shows just how far Kane has come this season.
