Kop supporters will be pleased to know that PFA Player of the Year nominee Philippe Coutinho has given his word that he plans to stay at the club for a long time.

The Brazilian has shown glimpses of his superb talent over the course of the season and has come up with some vital goals since the turn of the year, none more so than the winner in the FA Cup quarter-final replay against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park earlier in the month.

That strike booked a place in the semi-final for the Reds and the 22-year-old, who has been linked with a summer move to Manchester City, says he is focused on helping Liverpool win trophies in the future:

“My mind is at Liverpool. I’m a Liverpool player and I don’t think about those things because I’m happy here and want to be here.” he said ahead of the semi-final clash with Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon (via Mirror Online)

“We’re in the semi-finals of a great competition and will do our best to win the FA Cup – it matters a lot to us as a club.”

“Our aim is always to start the season thinking of winning titles and trophies. The Champions League is not out of reach yet mathematically, there are still possibilities, even though it is not 100 per cent in our hands.” he added.
