Yohan Cabaye’s future with Paris Saint-Germain remains uncertain, and the France international did little to suggest that he can play a big part at the Parc des Princes with an underwhelming performance against Barcelona.

While the club have insisted that Cabaye will not be offloaded in the summer, the Newcastle United man is yet to prove that he can contribute for PSG.

Following Paris’s convincing 3-1 defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-final first leg on Wednesday, Le 10 Sport have questioned whether Cabaye still has a role to play at the club.

Indeed, the Magpies man was a cut below Thiago Motta, Marco Verratti and Blaise Matuidi and it remains to be seen whether PSG will not look to offload the ex-LOSC Lille star this summer.

Cabaye has made only 10 starts in Ligue 1 so far this term—a campaign greatly affected by injury—and his rustiness could perhaps excuse his poor showing against Barca.

The midfielder didn’t manage a single key pass during the Champions League match, and nor did he manage a single tackle according to WhoScored.
