Earlier in the week Heerenveen midfielder Joey van den Berg had joked that he would consider letting the Philip Cocu’s side win if someone gave him ten crates of beer. In response two fans doubled the offer, taking twenty crates to the club’s stadium to give to van den Berg.

However, the Dutchman claims he is waiting for a counter offer from title rivals and second placed Ajax!

He told Heerenveen TV before the match on Saturday: “Actually, I am still waiting for a bid from Ajax, but that is not yet in!”

The two sides face each other on Saturday, with PSV currently ten points ahead of Frank de Boer’s Ajax. A win is enough for them to take the league crown, but either way it is likely they will go on to win the championship.
