Sirigu performance vs. Barcelona encourages talk of Lloris move

Following Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-1 Champions League quarter-final first-leg defeat to Barcelona, Le 10 Sport have questioned whether Salvatore Sirigu is up to the task.

The Italian has held fort between the sticks for the capital club since 2011, when he left Palermo.

He has served Laurent Blanc’s side with distinction, winning two Ligue 1 titles and earning several individual awards during his time in France.

He has also been named in the Ligue 1 team of the year on three occasions, and thrice been named Ligue 1 goalkeeper of the year.

However, his limitations were revealed on Wednesday as he conceded three times, once after Neymar’s fine finish and twice following Luis Suarez efforts.

In light of PSG’s defeat, Le 10 Sport have raised the question of his possible departure from the club, indicating that the Parisians will be considering their goalkeeper situation in the next window.

In the past, Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper and France No. 1 Hugo Lloris has been linked with a move back to Ligue 1 and to PSG.

Could Sirigu’s recent struggles force Paris to increase their efforts to bring Lloris to the Parc des Princes?
