Liverpool complete signing of highly rated goalkeeper

Liverpool have completed the deal to take highly rated goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher to Anfield from Irish side Ringhamon Rangers as the club aim to find Simon Mignolet’s long-term replacement, according to the Metro.

The deal was confirmed by the Cork City club’s official Twitter page and according to the report, Kelleher has signed a four-year deal and will join Liverpool’s academy for next season.

Only 16, the Republic of Ireland youth international is highly rated and Liverpool may have signed a future star right from under the noses of their rivals.

The goalkeeping position has been one much publicised at Anfield and whilst Kelleher cannot be seen as an immediate candidate for the No.1 shirt, Brendan Rodgers will still be expected to address that area come the summer.

Mignolet has transformed his fortunes following a difficult start to the season, but still doesn’t command the presence as a bonafide first choice at a huge club.
