The Ivorian was set to play in the ‘Match against Poverty’ on Monday in St. Etienne, but has had to withdraw. With Diego Costa and Loic Remy both on the sidelines already this leaves Jose Mourinho without any fit forwards.

The former is set to return to training this week. However, the Portuguese may not want to throw him straight back in after he aggravated his hamstring problem within minutes after coming on against Stoke City a couple of weeks ago. Remy was also absent from the bench during their 1-0 win over Manchester United on Saturday.

This could end up leaving 17-year-old Dominic Solanke with a chance to impress on the big stage. The teenager recently won the UEFA Youth League trophy with the Under 19’s team.
