Stamford Bridge side look to conduct yet another Atletico Madrid raid.
Chelsea are reportedly locked in talks to sign Atletico Madrid star Koke according to the Metro.
The 23 year old midfielder played a pivotal role in helping Diego Simeone’s side to a surprise La Liga triumph last term, and indeed this season he is once again of the Spanish top tier’s leading assist makers and is a player Jose Mourinho appears keen on landing.
Mourinho is ready to offer Felipe Luis back to the Vicente Calderon side as part of any deal with Koke valued by the Metro at around £46m.
One wonders quite where Mourinho would look to field Koke in his Blues starting eleven given the Spanish international is generally used in a central midfield role.
This term Mourinho has opted to use Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas in the centre of his midfield and the pair have, on the whole, been hugely effective in their respective roles.
Last summer Chelsea signed the aforementioned Felipe Luis and Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid and also ushered in Thibaut Courtois back into their first team set-up after the Belgian had spent three successful seasons on loan at the club.
